Great Basics Book by L. Ury 5 Stars

This is it! Finally found a book that just explains the basics of the female anatomy which is great for a 8-11yr old. It does not talk about sexual intercourse or how an egg gets fertilized. It creatively states that your body is practicing through the puberty process, preparing your body for when you are old enough to have a baby. (and if not) why menstrual cycles happen.

This book was an excellent selection for my 12 year old daughter. She enjoyed reading it and read it in one night. The book was easy to understand and covered a lot of information.

Puberty Survival Guide for Girls by S. Ciesielski (Omaha, NE USA) 4 Stars

I purchased seven books about puberty to read before determining which books to give to my 10 year old daughter. There were a couple of books that I held back because they talked too much about sex and masturbation. I liked this book because it gave the basics of how her body will change in puberty and what the menstrual cycle was. Some of the other books had too much information for a 10 year old who doesn't even know what puberty is. This will give her the basics and we can add the sex discussion at a later date.

Great, informative book! by M. Wheeler (Ohio) 4 Stars

I found the 'Puberty Survival Guide for Girls' to be an informative book for young girls. It is written in a less intimidating way, and at their age level. I believe it helped my daughter be excited about "growing up", instead of overwhelmed about her body changing and developing. :-) I would recommend this book to anyone with a young lady in their household!
