| ARGHHH Spider! by Deborah Verlen (Park Ridge, IL USA) 5 Stars October 08, 2009 This cute story centers around a lonely black spider who's ambition is to be a family pet. Unfortunately the family isn't as enthralled with the idea. The book has a lot of humor in it as the lonely spider pursues the family she wants. If you have a toddler that is afraid of spiders and bugs, this is a good book to discuss their place in the ecosystem--or your house!
| | Aaaarrgghh! Spider! great to bring to life by M. Valeri (Washington D.C.) 5 Stars May 22, 2009 Aaaaarrgghh! Spider! is a terrific book to dramatize in a preschool classroom. All it requires is a small stick puppet in the shape of a spider for each child to manipulate and their off on an arachnid adventure definitely worth the price of the book. Obviously the author knows about small children.
| | Great book for emmergent readers by Lesley Conner (Smithsburg, MD USA) 4 Stars March 30, 2009 My four-year-old daughter loves this book. The repetitive lines allow her to read with me, and I find her in her room all the time reading this book to herself. Its a wonderful starting point for teaching her to read.
| | Great Book by Tracy (Las Vegas, NV) 5 Stars November 20, 2008 My three year old love, love, loves this book! And, so do I. It is fun to read because he loves to yell Aarrrgghhh Spider! He is even recognizing the words,"out you go!" now.
I bought this book because my son does not like very wordy books, but I wanted more than just a picture book to help his language development. This book is in my opinion the perfect mix of the two.
I highly recommend this book.
| | Adorable by Robin 5 Stars November 01, 2007 This is a very cute story for any time and also for Halloween. I read it to my daughter's Kindergarten class at their Halloween party and they loved it! They enjoyed shouting out "Aaaargghh! Spider!" at every opportunity. It was perfect for that age group since it wasn't scary but still was appropriate for the holiday.
