EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description The Secret Language of Relationships shows how astrology can craft a relationship profile between any two individuals born during any two weeks of the year. The result is an indispensable guide to getting the most out of every relationship. | Amazon.com Review The Secret Language of Relationships adopts the format of its bestselling predecessor, The Secret Language of Birthdays, and the compendious collection of combinations that follows proves the book's assertion that "A relationship is a rather mysterious and amazing third entity, one that can come to lead an existence independent of the will or desire of its two partners.... in certain cases a relationship can prove far stronger than either individual, leading us to believe that a certain kind of synergy is at work." Well-organized, packed with fascinating "personality" information, and replete with snapshots (on every page) of famous couples--whether colleagues, spouses, or lovers--The Secret Language of Relationships is also simple to use. A glance at the two-page chart at the beginning of the book determines your birthday "period." Next, find the period of the person who interests you--friend, parent, child, lover, or mate. The ensuing relationship dynamics are named colorfully and aptly: "Peas in a Pod," "Uncommon Intimacy," "Flexible Structures," "Few Dull Moments," and "Few Antipathies." Describing 1,176 possibilities, The Secret Language of Relationships sheds light on the classic questions--the hows and whys of chemistry in relationships. Is there a prime ingredient for love at first sight, a Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers of it all? An entertaining exploration of the very thing we cannot do without--each other--this wonderful volume explains why we feel the way we do about the people in our lives, and how--if necessary--to make it better. |

| Entertaining and surprisingly on target by I. Abreu (New York, NY) 5 Stars November 16, 2009 I have looked up several relationships in this book and was surprised to find that the descriptions were strangely accurate. Some of the descriptions were pessimistic about certain pairs, but those passages I read for these pairs were right-on in describing the sorts of problems that arise in the relationship. Pretty fascinating.
| | the best relationship astrology book in print by Brian Fitzsimmons (Baltimore, MD) 5 Stars August 15, 2009 There are a lot of other reviews of this book that all say about the same thing so I also recommend you also read them and see how similar the opinions are about the accuracy and usefulness of this book.
I have read and researched many many books on relationships within astrology. This book is the most accurate and comprehensive that I have seen to date since the book breaks down each sign into 5 "types." That is, there are 3 types within each sign and 2 covering cusp personality types on either end of the sign (i.e. Pisces-Aries Cusp, Aries I, II, II and Aries-Taurus Cusp). It then covers the nature of relationships for each of these types with any other of the 5 types.
The beginning of the book provides a strikingly-accurate 2-page description of each subtype and then goes on to cover each and every possible relationship combination of any two of the given subtypes. The descriptions are is mostly devoted to romantic relationships but there are also some short descriptions of work relationships and family relationships (parent-child or even sibling) within most of the combinations. Finally, for each subtype it gives "best" combination for love, marriage, work, parent-child, etc. It's important to note that what combination works best in "love" often does not always work in marriage!
It may not be 100% accurate, but it's as close as I have seen in any book. If you want better you will have to have someone do a birth chart for each of you. Short of being an astrologer yourself or having a professional doing your charts, this book is REFERENCE CLASS for looking at relationship astrology.
This book has proven to be so intriguing that you will find it being passed around to friends, people at work, at a party...and they'll all love it. It's one-of-a-kind and the author is truly gifted to have accurately captured the astrological implications of these relationships. I can't recommend this book highly enough.
| | Interesting Book by T. Lewis (Washington, DC USA) 5 Stars June 16, 2009 Love this book..!!! Third time ordering it from amazon... I have to buy it for ppl when they see it on my coffee table.... Very INTERESTING.. Hard to put down....!!
| | One of the best astrology books for non astrologers by Eros illuminati (Dallas, TX) 5 Stars May 08, 2009 This text is remarkable. If I had to swear by any astrological information I would bank that this text has already done the work for you and you need only reference a birthday to find and understand your relationships with a significant other, a family member, or even a co-worker. I have compared the information in this text to charts that I have created and found the "whys" to why his information holds some credibility and I can say with confidence that if you are wanting to understand someone or if you're dating, reference this material first and make your decision from there. You don't need to be an astrologer to understand how it is written and it may save you some time away from heartache in your relationships.
| | The Book That Sees Through Walls... by S. Davitt-Style (Somerville, MA USA) 5 Stars March 06, 2009 It does, you know. See through walls. Brilliantly insightful and more often than not - dead on.
We often read it around our house, and it is often viewed with uncanny results. One rule, however -- NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO READ THE ENTRY FOR ANY CURRENT LOVER (or any current lover where people are still happy) because the results will be skewed... But once/if they start fighting/are seperated, the rose tints come off, and the book can step in and be useful.
It is also well designed, and a joy to flip through.
