Good, easy to follow directions and illustrations. It also helps to take a beginning tai chi class at the same time. They will complement each other.

Couldn't be easier by M. Stackhouse 5 Stars

I've enjoyed Lam Kam Chuen's other books such as The Way of Energy: Mastering the Chinese Art of Internal Strength with Chi Kung Exercise (A Gaia Original), so I decided to have a go with this one. The book contains: 1 Set of 18 easy Tai Chi warmups--These are actually quite thorough and can be used to warm up for any other activity. They are nice on their own when your motivation is low and you want to work out the kinks in the morning. 1 Set of 18 Tai Chi-based exercises--As mentioned in the introduction to this section, these exercises will give you most of the benefits of practicing a formal Tai Chi form. The advantage here is that these exercises take very little space and are easier to learn 1 Set of walking/balance exercises--I haven't practiced much of these yet, but seems like some solid exercises here 1 Set of partner drills--Again I haven't had the opportunity to try these but they actually look fun The Tai Chi form--This form is Master Chuen's own creation. It is based on only a few key Tai chi movements, but these movements are both powerful and important to learn regardless of what style of Tai Chi you may eventually study. Overall I think this is about as good as any book on Tai Chi can be. I enjoyed the drawings and the instructions are quite clear. I do agree with other reviewers that learning Tai Chi from a book is not ideal, however even if you only take from this the 2 sets of exercises you will be on your way to improved health with very little time commitment.

Nice basic Tai Chi book by Movie Girl (East Coast, U.S.) 4 Stars

As a Tai Chi beginner, I appreciated the quality and clarity of this book. But somehow, I wanted more details on core aspects of the art. But overall, this is probably one of the better intro books out there.
