My grandson, age 2 1/2 years old has a fascination with bugs. I purchase the book so I explore the world of insects with him. Now, we go in the garden looking for the insects you saw in the book. As with most toddlers, he wants you to read the book over and over again. No problem! Each time I read it, I learn something new.

Great illustration, nice weight and feel to book. Sturdy enough to withstand use by younger hands, but not too "high quality" that your afraid to let them touch it. Very pleased w/purchase and ideal for that 5-9 year old who loves their bugs!

My 5 year old son loves insects! He chose this book at of all the ones available here on Amazon. It has fabulous close up illustrations and actual photos. Each species is catagorized, with details on type of species and how they are different from one to another. I recommend this books for any parents little future scientist! :)

I bought this book for my 8-year-old niece, who loves bugs. She adores this book, everything about it. She loves the BIG pictures of the insects, as she can really study their anatomy. She loves the very informative descriptions given and also the variety of insects covered. I would highly recommend this book for any child who loves bugs. I, however, being a bit squeamish, got a little nauseous seeing such huge pictures of insects but it didn't bother my brave, curious niece at all.
