| Too Comprehensive? by Too Cold in Madison (Madison, WI, USA) 4 Stars December 23, 2008 This is an excellent comprehensive and beautifully illustrated pediatric dermatology tome. As such, it should be particularly useful to specialists in this area. As for value to the primary care provider, it may be a bit much. I like to maintain a library of various pediatric subspecialty texts in addition to the standard Nelson Textbook of Pediatrics. Given so many areas to cover, I like to keep these in a price range not much north of $100, and preferably under that. So, while this is a superb text, my preference as a primary care provider is for Weston's Color Textbook of Pediatric Dermatology. It is organized well, illustrated nicely, and priced better. It is also sufficient for all primary care needs. If it's not in there, it merits a dermatology referral.
