| Great but not for the lazy dieter! by Denise Playford (Tucson, AZ) 4 Stars November 21, 2009 I bought this book and was very impressed with the information it gave me regarding how different metabolism types lose weight. It was very informative and seemed liked it was geared directly towards me! I have been very successful on this diet, where others have failed me. I lost 10 pounds and 7" in the first 8 days! The only down side is that there are very strict timelines pertaining to when you can consume carbs. If you do not have the flexibility to follow those timelines, this is not the diet for you. It definitely works though!

I related to the caracteristics of having metabolism B. I was eatting candy constantly. Putting on weight in my mid-section. I felt out of control. The book explains the problem. It gives a couple of pages of breakfast, lunch, dinner ideas for each phase of the diet. You are only allowed 5 grms of carbs every 5 hrs. in the first 8 weeks. It sounds restrictive, but it is not bad after a while. You get used to it. It is a low carb way of eatting. No bread except low carb. No potatoes. It uses Splenda as an alternate sweetener. After the first 8 weeks more carbs are allowed at certain times. I'm not craving carbs anymore. I'm calmer. I've lost 7 lbs. in 2 weeks. There are recipes in the back of the book. If your serious about losing wieght and getting your blood sugar straighted out and want to feel better, I recomend this book.

It might work IF you actually can eat most of the foods you CAN have. Otherwise, it will fail. For starters,I am ALLERGIC to Splenda. Many of the recipes use Splenda. Count that out. Ditto with many of the other foods. I tried to follow the diet as best I could for 2 weeks. I would get so hungry to the point that I felt faint. Face it, you can only eat so much meat, broccoli, cauliflower. Oh, lets throw on some eggs, nuts, benedryl, and an epi-pen. I agree that it is just another low carb diet.

The Author states that after 3 days of this eating plan, you will feel better. This proved to be true, and now it is Day 9 for me, and I have increased energy, and decreased bloating and indigestion. For anyone suffering problems with food, digestion and weight, give this book a serious look. I am quite surprised at the improvements I am experiencing.
