| You won't believe what they include! by Jeff D. Fennell 3 Stars February 28, 2009 This book is certainly complete, although I think they could include values for smaller portions to make it easier to calculate some things. It does the job though. However, I got even more then I expected from this book because now I know that squirrel has less calories then Opossum or Muskrat. No, I am not kidding! Frog legs? Yep, they're included! I also learned that apparently you can eat ferns, because they're in there too. Who knows what I might find next!?!
| | A calorie counter with a different title by Lindsay (Connecticut USA) 1 Stars December 27, 2008 I just received this as a gift and will be returning it. It is NOT a protein counter like it advertises, instead it is just a regular calorie counting book that just happens to include calories, protein, fat and carbs, in that order. All the foods listed are in ALPHABETICAL ORDER ONLY. I was expecting foods to be listed in order of protein per serving, since protein is what I am most concerned with and that is what the title lead me to believe. I understand that having foods ALSO listed in alphabetical order can come in handy, but the way it is makes it EXTREMELY time consuming to find the highest protein foods available, which is what I want. If anyone DOES know of a book that lists foods in the order of how much protein is in each serving (highest to lowest would be the best) please reply to my post with the title, it will help me tremendously. Thank you.
| | seomwhat outdated by K. Hong (Los Angeles, CA United States) 3 Stars August 22, 2008 thought this book would provide some inside into type of protein and recommendations, instead it is just pages up pages of protein listing. Can get that online and must more updated

| | Protein Counter by P. Crowley 5 Stars July 12, 2007 I have found The Protein Counter very helpfull. I had a gastric bypass and need to get my protein in. I refer to this book all the time.

| Life After Gastric Bypass: 6 Steps to Ensure Your Weight Loss Success by Gerald Wayne (Author)
The adage says most people won't take action until their back is up against the wall and there's nothing to do but come out swinging. My back was against the wall! But it wasn't the fact that I had sleep apnea and needed a machine just so I could draw a breath. It also wasn't the fact that I could not cross my legs; shop for clothes in regular stores; walk for more than ten minutes without my back killing me; participate in sport activities, or even sit in an airplane without a seat belt...
