| marvelous by T. Bawden 5 Stars November 17, 2009 this big beautiful book was a birthday present for my frog-obsessed 6 year old son. not only does he love to flip through the pages, but so does our whole family. beautiful, colorful, vivid pictures with brief, yet descriptive captions are on every page. a visual feast for the frog admirer!
| | Exquisitely beautiful! by buen chapin (guatemala) 5 Stars September 26, 2009 Definitely a top winner and also deserving a ten star rating as previous reviewers have expressed. At first, I hesitated purchasing this awesome book because I thought, that a book entirely devoted to amphibians would be excessive and probably an "overkill" of frogs.(!?) I own Marent's previous book "Rainforest" and it is still one of the best, if not the best book on nature photography ever produced. Therefore, I decided to risk it and purchased "Frog". I'm absolutely delighted with it! It is in no way excessive, boring or even cloying. Every page has loads of wonderful pictures of top quality and astonishing super sharp close-ups. Flipping through the pages constitutes an extraordinary adventure into the world of amphibians. For lack of more words to describe it, it is plainly: Exquisite!
Definitely worth the price and a valuable addition to everyone's library. Get it now and enjoy it!!
| | Worth every cent... by The Otha MC (Madison, WI United States) 5 Stars September 12, 2009 This book is beautiful. While the text is sparse, the pictures are priceless. I bought this for my 5 year-old who loves frogs. He pores over the pages for at least an hour at a time. Most frogs are named scientifically and/or commonly. We have enjoyed many hours of looking at this together. It is truly a work of art!
| | Most beautifull book ever!!! by Antonio Lisboa (Amazonia, Brazil) 5 Stars September 11, 2009 I've just received it, and I can't believe what I saw. It's unbelievebly astounding, breathtaking and impressive. It's surelly the most beautifull book I've ever seen. I work in a National Park in Brazilian Amazon and have seen a lot of guides and nature photography books, but have never seen something like this. The photos are the most fantastic I've ever seen and the art (design) is wonderfull. Congratulations for the authors and wellcome to Parque Nacional do Viruá... God Save the frogs!

Maybe it is their BIG eyes, maybe it is their permanent smile, I don't know. But I do know, this book is breath taking. It is the perfect book to read/look through as you are relaxing on the patio. You will smile and say ahhhh when you own this wonderful book.
