| | a must to read for people with oncologic disease by Tamara G. Fojt (Beltsville, MD) 5 Stars August 09, 2009 Anybody diagnosed with oncological diseases has to read this book as it contains the latest research in the field of oncology and medicine in general. Your doctor will learn about many of the presented facts in about 15 years from today (that's how much time it takes for the research results to be on the doctor's table -- due to a lengthy process of additional scientific verification and bureaucracy from the FDA). As a medical informatics researcher and a medical professional, I find these facts compiled in ONE book fascinating. A cancer patient is guided through these facts with explanations (those patients who want to survive, of course, -- and not those who blindly rely on whatever treatments are offered to them by their doctors). This book should be a bestseller among both patients and doctors.
This book is written as a factual presentation and not as a "prescription" for what is to be done, which was a smart thing to do. A lot of information presented, however, can be grasped only if the person has some kind of idea about medicine and the processes that are involved. Those who lack basic medical understanding can still understand the gist of the book, and there is always website to assist those who search for information.
| | This book is to extreme by Stu 2 Stars July 31, 2009 Some of the advice does make since. But, this book goes way over the top. You might as well live in a bubble and only eat kale and supplements. The main thing for cancer victims is to eat healthy and eat things in moderation. Kind of like you should anyway. Eat the good fats (omega 3), eat less sugar, eat more vegetables, and stay away from red meat. If that is what you got out of the book then great. But all the rambling of all the supplements is confusing, and not well organized. And maybe a recipe to give an example of proper nutrition would help.
| | Amazing Information by A. Bushek 5 Stars May 21, 2009 I am amazed...every time I flip Cancer Strategies open, I find something pertenant whether an answer or something to work with. Easy to read and packed with answers. I love this book.
| | A perfect guide to fighting cancer by N. Shimmel (Butler, PA) 5 Stars May 08, 2009 Natural Strategies For Cancer Patients
This is an excellent book -- easy to read, and full of descriptions of natural supplements for fighting cancer whether your are undergoing chemo / radiation or not. It also discusses substances that cause or enhance the spread of cancer. Highly recommended.
