EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description The perfect geometry and exquisite beauty of nature is nowhere so clear to us as in the snowflake. But how have we been able to appreciate this infinitesimal wonder in all its crystalline glory? This book, as much a work of art as a testament to science, reveals how one of the snowflake’s most inspired photographers came to such intimate knowledge of his craft and its fleeting focus. Beautiful pictures illustrate Kenneth Libbrecht’s story of the microphotography of snow crystals, from the pioneering work of Wilson Bentley in the 1890s right up to Ken’s own innovations in our age of digital images. A breathtaking look at the works of art that melt in an instant, this is a book to page through and savor, season after season. |

In her time she cut out bunches and bunches of amazing snowflakes by hand, and this book has amazing pictures. some that even are similar to the ones she cut out. The history in the book and how this guy captures the snowflakes is awesome work. He definatly captured God's beauty in snowflakes. WONDERFUL BOOK! Also thank you for the fast service.
| | Beautiful photography! by Maggie (Helena, MT) 5 Stars December 23, 2008 The photos are amazing! It is so amazing how God can create such beautiful snowflakes and we don't even realize it! This would make a great conversation book for a coffee table in winter time. This book would also be great for children, so they can see and be amazed at God's handywork!
| | Excellent book by James Boyer (Fort Wayne, IN USA) 5 Stars August 07, 2008 This is a beautiful coffee table book. Mostly very highly detailed images. No real detail about the theory of snowflake development or how to preserve them. An art book not a scientific book but the images could not be better or more detailed. Bentley would be proud.
