CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.5 based on 6 reviews)
| Not What You Think... by Mattopoo 2 Stars September 09, 2009 This is probably not what you think it is. It is entitled Laughter the Best Medicine II, which would lead one to think that it's the second part of Laughter the Best Medicine (volume I), but it's not. It's not simply jokes taken from the popular column in the magazine like the first book. It MOSTLY includes quotes and real life stories that are at best amusing, but nothing that you would repeat with the words, "I got a good one for you..."
If you enlarge the cover, you'll see it includes what I described above - something I failed to do before I bought it. I just assumed that the title was a no brainer sequel to the first book - which by the way I thought was great. There were many jokes in it that can be retold and get a guaranteed laugh. This one unfortunately falls far short. I've picked it up 3 times and read many pages trying to find one that would be good enough to repeat, make me chuckle, or for that matter even smile. Unfortunately, stories that have "Then my 6 year old said..." or misprinted headlines, or even miscommunication in the workplace can only be considered cute at best.
If you are looking to get the first book, great! If you have it, reread it, hearing it twice is better than anythng you'll find here.
| | Laughter, The Best Medicine II by BlueOwl (Westfield, NJ United States) 5 Stars January 21, 2009 I have always enjoyed the Laughter section in the Readers Digest magazine. Now there is a book putting a great collection together. I totally love it.
| | Giggles.... by Kat (NY USA) 4 Stars November 05, 2008 The book is pretty cute. Its filled with three sentence stories from people who have experienced funny things in life.
It does have a couple of pages with full page funny stories. It's great to read on the subway or in a waiting room.
I was expecting to be rolling on the floor laughing my butt off, but this wasn't the case. Only giggles. Stories I could probably share with a friend, co-worker, even a boss to get a "ha" or a "Smile"
Basically, it's just a book to kill some time, no matter where you left off.

| | Cheerful by Joanne Freeman (Liberty, New York) 5 Stars May 23, 2007 This was a gift for a person in the hospital and preparing for a long haul to get better. It was the best gift you can give as, no matter how much you do not want to laugh, you laugh just reading it. Remember, Laughter really is the Best Medicine.
