EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Inventive first concept books for babies and toddlers who are just discovering the world around them — in all its color and contrast! What color are strawberries? Bananas? Grapes? Flip the pages to find out! What happens when you mix these and other wonderful colors together? Peek in the bowl on the last spread for a tasty surprise. | Amazon.com Review There's nothing like the deep, ruby red of strawberries, glistening orange of oranges, dusky blue of blueberries, and sunny yellow of bananas. In this tasty treat, Petr Horacek celebrates the lovely natural hues of six different fruits. Each right-side page, outlined in the shape of a mound of fruit, decreases in width, creating ever-growing layers of fruit on the left side, until the final page, which brings a delicious surprise. Children will delight in identifying their favorite sweet (or tart) foods while learning their colors. Very simple text ("Strawberries are red, Apples are green, Grapes are purple," etc.) allows early "readers" to follow right along as they look at the watercolor-and-crayon illustrations. And why not round out the color spectrum with Horacek's companion volume, What Is Black and White? (Ages 2 to 5) --Emilie Coulter |

| Printing quality on this book is sub-par by MDLC (Lilburn, GA) 1 Stars September 03, 2008 Not a quality printing job on this book as I am finding out with many childrens books purchased online. Cardboard pages are also flimsier than I would like for a small child.
| | Rainbow of Colors by LilDot'sMom (NH) 5 Stars May 14, 2005 My 16 month old just loves this book. And the colors are basic ones corresponding with all the fruits that she eats. The ending makes for a delicious treat! The board book is always a hit for the 2 and under age group!
| | Fruity Fun by Mrs. L. Clarke (Worcester, WORCESTERSHIRE United Kingdom) 5 Stars October 23, 2002 All of the fruit in this board book are almost good enough to eat. We have used this book extensively in our playgroup to introduce the youngsters to colors and fruits with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm all around. The bright colors also helps to inspire fun. My daughter just loves trying to copy the pictures on her own. Lots of imagination!
| | Strawberries Are Red 4 Stars September 17, 2001 This is a great book for a toddler learning her colors. Our 2 year old loves it, turning the pages quickly and pointing at everything! She eats everything that's illustrated in the book, so she has fun naming the fruits. A great book, and durable, because it's a board book.
