EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Despite the exaggerated reputation piranhas have acquired from horror movies, these fish make fascinating additions to many hobbyists’ fish tanks. Barron’s extensive line of Complete Pet Owner’s Manuals presents information for non-specialist animal owners and prospective owners, with facts about each animal’s origins and traits, as well as advice on purchasing, housing, feeding, health care, and much more. Each book is individually written by a trainer, breeder, veterinarian, or other animal specialist. Titles in this series cover every popular breed of dog and cat, freshwater and marine fish, many bird varieties, and virtually all other animals that are kept as pets. All books are filled with handsome color photos and instructive line illustrations. |

| Piranhas by Edouard Paiva 5 Stars July 09, 2008 The best book of Piranhas, it has new information and is more complete than the first edition. I really recomend this book to the Piranha Hobbist and to the person that wants to see them in the wild.

| | Excellent resource. by Grosse Gurke (PDX) 5 Stars June 17, 2008 The new addition is by far the most accurate resource for someone interested in the various species of piranha. The pictures are amazing and the information is very accurate.
| | Great for a beginner by J. Fields (Indiana, USA) 5 Stars October 09, 2005 Whether you're interested in learning about piranhas for your own enlightenment or starting your own piranha tank, this book is great. There's a little information on most different types of piranhas and a lot of general information for piranha care. The author also goes into detail of his own experiences with piranhas in their natural environment.
| | not worth it 2 Stars December 15, 2003 there isnt any information in here that anyone who has kept a successful fish tank wouldnt already know, and it seems like none of then info is specific to piranhas. he doesnt go over what size tanks piranhas need, or that they dont like a lot of light, or that they need a heater guard to prevent them from breaking it, or that they can chew through air hoses. seems like a basic fish keeping book plus 2 chapters on piranha history and species.
| | this book has lots of info by M. Miller (Bronx, NY) 5 Stars July 18, 2002 I just bought this book today and have already read it. I also just got 5 baby piranhas and loving it. This book was well put together and is very helpful. Get it if you've got questions about piranhas.....
