| | Bipolar for Dummies is one smart purchase! by Rod Guthrie (Monterey, CA) 4 Stars September 18, 2009 Having been a veteran of bipolar disorder since 1985, I've got some experience under my belt with the ups and downs of this disorder. My impression of this book was that it was an excellent resource book to have in my library. The disorder criteria are well explained, the medication strategies and medication choices are very good. In addition of how to treat it medically, explanations of the types of therapy that are available (supportive, insight-oriented and cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies). It's a good fit on the bookshelf in my opinion.

| | Bipolar Disorder Book by Lorraine Chadwick (Pittsfield MA) 5 Stars April 08, 2009 WOW!!! What a great book. I've read so many publications and heard so much from doctors that isn't even close to what this book is about. Mental illness is so hush-hush too it's unbelievable. Every doctor and every mental illness organization should have this book. I have bipolar disorder and everything in this book coincided with me and I could've added to it. I want to thank Candida and Joe personally for writing this book. Thank you both. Please try to market this book to all mental illness organizations and you may use this comment if you try.
