CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 5.0 based on 2 reviews)
| Easy Read. by Vitamin K (Long Island, NY) 5 Stars April 24, 2009 This book was required for my Intro to Clinical Medicine class and I found it to be an easy and quick read. It's dead on for what they want you to know about interviewing a patient. Not necessary to buy if you don't want to spend the money and you have a teacher that is basically going to give you all the information anyway. It is, however, the basics of a good medical interview that everyone should learn.
| | Patient Centered Interviewing by Richard Frankel (indianapolis, Indiana USA) 5 Stars January 08, 2008 Patient-Centered Interviewing by Robert C. Smith, MD, MS
Richard M. Frankel Ph.D.
Glenda R. Westmoreland, MD, MPH
Dr. Smith's book is an excellent resource for medical students beginning to learn the art and skill of the medical interview. The book offers a step by step approach to the patient interview using a "patient-centered" approach. From a behavioral science perspective, this book is a welcome addition as it is evidence based and provides a clear rationale for each of the steps in the interview. From a clinical point of view the advanced interviewing chapter which provides information about how to interview more challenging patients is particularly helpful. This textbook is practical and provides learners with the tools interview patients with a gamut of complexities in their histories.
Highly recommended.
