Not for the NM Boards by Btr_MD (Baton Rouge. LA) 1 Stars

After taking the NM boards, I realized that this book was absolutely useless. Cherry and Phelps' has all the physics you need.

Short, Concise and comprehensive by M. H. Al-shaer (TX, USA) 5 Stars

I would say it again short concise and comprehensive
Very useful to study for the nuclear cardiology boards

A nice and useful book 4 Stars
November 12, 2003
The book reviews the basic prerequisites for physicians interested in nuclear medicine. It is not complete and the image acquisition and processing part for SPECT imaging is sparse, but it's a very nice little book. I used it to prepare for the nuclear cardiology board certification exam and I found it very useful, although it is geared more towards general nuclear medicine. The book is clear and concise and the questions at the end of each chapter are extremly helpful.

Nuclear Cardiac Imaging: Principles and Applications
by Ami E. Iskandrian (Author), Ernest V. Garcia (Author)

Nuclear cardiac imaging refers to cardiac radiological diagnostic techniques performed with the aid of radiopharmaceuticals, which are perfused into the myocardium as markers. These imaging studies provide a wide range of information about the heart, including the contractility of the heart, the amount of blood supply to the heart and whether parts of the heart muscle are alive or dead. ...

Fundamentals of Nuclear Pharmacy
by Gopal B. Saha (Author)

This is the classic text/reference of nuclear pharmacy, thoroughly updated and judiciously expanded. Generously supplemented with charts, tables, and more than 100 illustrations throughout, each chapter provides the reader with well-delineated descriptions, from the basic autotomic structure through the clinical uses of radiopharmaceuticals. Previous editions were unanimously priased for their clarity and accuracy, as Dr. Saha set new standards for making complex theoretical concepts readily...

For more than two decades, this text has succinctly presented the procedures and technologies related to an ever-changing specialty. This 6th edition continues that tradition by providing a general update of all chapters, a new chapter on CT physics and instrumentation, and a revised focus to the increasingly important PET/CT systems. All aspects of nuclear medicine are explored, with a focus on pertinent anatomy and physiology and a discussion of each procedure in relation to the specific use...

Physics in Nuclear Medicine
by Simon R. Cherry (Author), James Sorenson (Author), Michael Phelps (Author)

Experts in their fields provide up-to-date, comprehensive information on the physics underlying modern nuclear medicine and imaging using radioactively labeled tracers. They examine every aspect of the field--from basic atomic physics through radioactivity, isotope production, interaction of radiation with matter, radiation detection, and imaging systems. Examples are presented with solutions worked out in step-by-step detail, illustrating important concepts and calculations.
