EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description The thoroughly updated Fifth Edition of this landmark work has been completely overhauled to better represent the rapidly changing field of radiation oncology. This edition has an updated interior design including full-color throughout, and a new corresponding Website featuring the fully searchable text with all the images. This comprehensive textbook provides an understanding of every aspect of radiation oncology—the natural history of cancer, the physical methods of radiation application, the effects of irradiation on normal tissues, and site-specific applications of radiation therapy either as a single modality or as part of a multimodality treatment program. This edition places greater emphasis on use of radiation oncology in palliative and supportive care as well as therapy. Six new chapters cover stereotactic irradiation outside the CNS; photodynamic therapy; radiation and gene therapy; prostate—intermediate and high risk; oncologic imaging/oncologic anatomy; and economics of radiation oncology. Other highlights include expanded coverage of new molecular biology and targeted therapies and greater emphasis on dose conformality, IMRT, IGRT, new radiation therapy delivery machines, radiosurgery, dose painting, and innovative brachytherapy. | A new look for a classic and traditional radiation book. by Celia Viegas (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) 5 Stars December 12, 2008 In this edition are avaiable to download the images inside the book by a password. This allow you to illustrate lectures and rounds. Very helpfull!!!
| | A MUST-HAVE FOR RADIATION THERAPISTS! by M. Wisniewski (New Haven, CT) 5 Stars January 20, 2008 As a first-year student in a 2-year Radiation Therapy training program, I believe this book is the "gold standard" of information in the field. Much of my research for written papers comes directly from Perez & Brady's book. As an added benefit, when you purchase a new copy, you get a special code which permits you to set up an online account with the publisher. That, in turn, allows you to view the entire book online (both text and images). The images and illustrations really add to my research papers. All-in-all, well worth the $$$$.

| Handbook of Evidence-based Radiation Oncology by Eric K. Hansen (Editor), Mack III Roach (Editor)
This handbook serves as a portable reference that utilizes evidence-based medicine as the basis for practical treatment recommendations and guidelines. Organized by body site, concise clinical chapters provide easy access to critical information. Important "pearls" of epidemiology, anatomy, pathology, and clinical presentation are highlighted. Key facets of the work-up are listed, followed by staging and/or risk classification systems. Treatment recommendations are discussed based on stage,...

| A Guide for Delineation of Lymph Nodal Clinical Target Volume in Radiation Therapy by Giampiero Ausili Cefaro (Editor), Carlos A. Perez (Editor), Domenico Genovesi (Editor), Annamaria Vinciguerra (Editor)
Conformal radiotherapy offers the opportunity to enhance precise delivery of high dose radiation to the target volume while maintaining normal tissues doses at acceptable tolerance levels. This technique requires an exact definition of the treatment volumes: gross tumour volume (GTV), clinical target volume (CTV) and planning target volume (PTV). For this reason, it is important to have a very good knowledge of radiological anatomy and natural history of the disease. In particular,...
