EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Revised and updated for its Third Edition, Aunt Minnie's Atlas is an excellent study tool for the oral radiology board examination. It features over 900 images and over 250 cases representing "Aunt Minnies"--diseases with unique radiographic features that allow a confident, immediate diagnosis. Each case is presented in an easy-to-follow format and includes crucial take-away points called "Aunt Minnie's Pearls." The cases represent all modalities and cover all subspecialties tested on the oral boards. This edition has more cases in more modalities, including new cases in breast MRI and digital mammography. A companion Website will offer new cases each quarter. |
CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.5 based on 3 reviews)
| Essential book for radiology residents by Eagle Vision (Southeastern United States) 5 Stars December 20, 2008 This is the 3rd edition to the already classic atlas of Thomas Pope's collection of Aunt Minnie's.
The book is organized into chapters by subspecialty: Interventional, Brain, Head and Neck, Spine, Thoracic, GI, GU, Pediatrics, Ultrasound, Cardiac, Nuclear Medicine, Breast Imaging and Musculoskeletal System. Each subject is presented by selected images, followed by a short history. You can 'take the case' by just looking at images and/or history as a method of doing 'unknowns' to prepare for end of rotation oral exams or practicing for the oral boards. Many subjects have even appeared on the annual inservice exams.
Following each unknown is a summary of the imaging findings, the diagnosis, discussion and Aunt Minnie's "Pearls". The book is well written and it has high quality images.
What separates this book from previous editions is the online access to the entire book in electronic format (text and images).

This is an essential book for preparation for the boards, as well as general knowledge of the practicing radiologist. No other book summarizes many of the pathognomonic imaging findings like this text.
Highly recommend this book.

| | Excellent Book for all radiology residents 5 Stars June 13, 2004 This book is an excellent collection of cases that can be classified as "Aunt Minnies", i.e. cases that have a specific diagnosis and you probably won't know what they are, unless you've seen them before. Therefore this book is invaluable for all radiology residents and especially for the oral boards. If there is one book you need to reveiw for the boards, this is it. The book has a concise text of imaging findings and relevent conceptual material for each case, which adds to the usefullness of the book.
