| | A must for anyone new to traumatic medicine by S. Petersen 5 Stars December 01, 2008 I have found this book to be surprisingly thorough for a "handbook." It is easy to glean information from, which is a must for me in my busy practice as a PA.
| | Concise and Conclusive by Ali Y. Y. Maqdes 5 Stars September 09, 2007 Handy book that be with you all the time containing everything you need in nearly everything needed in trauma orthopedics.
Good book
| | Mediocre by Douglas Philips (London) 2 Stars May 14, 2006 Many important topics in this book are presented
not in a cutting edge manner and the stuff can
easily be found in all standard text;
Newest topics in trauma like minimal invasive
surgery, computer aided surgery, new AO thinking
that everyone doing trauma is talking about these days
not covered or grossly inadequate
I have 2 juniors who used to work with one of the authors,
they told me there is a great discrepancy between
what that author claims he would do in his
little text, as compared to his actual practice
in real life. I hope this is not the case, but
if it is, readers will not be pleased
Mediocre work at most
| | well below expectations by F. Yue (Asia) 1 Stars April 29, 2006 This book in many areas are too dogmatic with lack of explanation
Important key topics like new plating systems, ilizarov,
newer EF, CAOS, periprosthetic # have either been not discussed or done too inadequately
May be good only for medical students
