EDITORIAL REVIEWS

Product Description
Prepared by residents, fellows, and attending physicians at the Washington University School of Medicine, this handbook is a practical quick-reference guide to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. It covers both inpatient and outpatient management approaches with the same front-lines practicality as the world-famous Washington Manual of Medical Therapeutics. Chapters include mnemonics, easily remembered bullet-point lists, bold-faced clinical pearls, and easy-to-read figures. This thoroughly revised, updated Second Edition emphasizes current guidelines from the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology. New chapters cover new cardiac imaging modalities, peripheral vascular diseases, and cardiovascular diseases in specific patient populations, including women, the elderly, patients with HIV, and patients with diabetes. An appendix facilitates quick recall of the most common cardiovascular medications, common doses, and important side effects. The Washington Manual is a registered mark belonging to Washington University in St. Louis to which international legal protection applies. The mark is used in this publication by LWW under license from Washington University.

Coronary Intensive Care by Hayah M. Kassis 4 Stars
September 08, 2009
This book touches on all the cases pertinent and common to the CCU including the rare STEMI, the common NSTEMIS and unstable angina, as well as cardiovascular emergencies. Three days in and I'm wondering why I never had this book before! I highly recommend it.

Useful book by Rodis Paparodis (Chicago, IL USA) 5 Stars

This book is a useful tool when you consider a cardiology rotation and internal medicine day to day problems. It includes a good number of recent data with reference to the articles of origin. Overall has more than the Washington Manual of Medical therapeutics regarding cardiology, explaining better the WHYs of the therapy. It does not include everything you cuould imagine in terms of Cardiology and it is not a textbook. It can surely though become the starting point of a more in depth knowledge of cardiology

Comparison with last edition by Window Shopper (NY) 4 Stars
August 04, 2006
The book is defficient in core knowledge of cardio as compared to the previous edition. The style in which references were given in the previous edition was also better. But the new book is more reader friendly, concise yet comprehensive.

Completely satisfied by The best reviewer (Pittsburgh PA, USA) 5 Stars

I am a second year medicine resident and planning a fellowship in cardiology. This book was very helpful in many respects. Firstly the management mentioned in this book is a brief summary of latest ACC guidelines. In addition it gives an idea of landmark trials hence helps you get an impression on your attending. Finally the information is very nicely classified so it's very easy to find the right info at the right place. I would give some credits of getting my fellowship to this book.
