Spectacular Resource! by Milo Madness (Edmond, OK) 5 Stars

I passed the clinical social work licensing exam earlier this year but was introduced to this little notebook only a few weeks ago. Never before have I seen so much helpful (and well organized!) information in such a small package. Psych Notes is a small, spiraled notebook that contains incredibly helpful information for clinicians, including diagnostic criteria, rule-outs, effective treatment modalities, etc. It also outlines techniques for crisis management, group work, various individual therapeutic approaches, etc. If you are in graduate school for psych/social work, you can greatly benefit from this little book - especially as you study for licensing exams and need guidelines in clinical practice.

Pocket Perfect! by ExternalValidity 5 Stars

Small enough to carry yet chock full of clinical info -- psych drugs listed alphabetically, disorders/interventions, DSM, labs, assessment forms (depression, including Edinburgh Postnatal), clinical insights. Everything needed, easy to find info, for dealing with patients with psych disorders, in this pocket-size book.

This is a nice pocket size book but the print is just too small in it.There's good information in it and it's very colourful. It's hardwearing. Overall I did not like this book due to the small print size but it has lots of good information.

This is a great pocket guide to take on clinicals at the hospital when you're on Psych floors. It is easy to carry in your pocket and very helpful when you need to look up a psych drug or something related to your patient. I like the fact that you can also write on it with pen and it comes off with alcohol pads. That way I don't have to carry paper pads with me too.

I really like the new 2nd edition of Psych Notes with all the extra drug information and the labs now in one section. The key disorders are all there and I especially like the tables highlighting what I need to know about key disorders. DSM-IV information is very helpful (includes all classifications and codes) as are assessment rating scales such as SMAST, geriatric depression scale, AIMs, and DSM-IV multiaxial tool. I can fill these out in a pinch and erase with an alcohol wipe. Grouping information by tabs makes it easy to locate info easily and quickly. Great quick reference for clinicals and reviewing!
