| Photosynthesis by Karen Woodworth Roman (DeKalb, IL) 5 Stars November 06, 2004 Very readable introduction to photosynthesis. Includes some great facts like a single maple tree can produce 2 tons of food (sugar) in one sunny day. Could use some illustrations (e.g. cell anatomy and xylem and phloem, but photos are good. Includes a glossary, additional resource list, and index. Karen Woodworth-Roman, Children's Science Book Review

| Photosynthesis: Changing Sunlight into Food (Nature's Changes) by Bobbie Kalman (Author)
This title contains a book & CD. Photosynthesis is the basis for all life on Earth! This exciting and sensitive book looks at how plants use a gas that is poisonous to people and animals to create food and oxygen for all creatures with the help of the Sun. The CD's approximate running time is 30 minutes.

| Photosynthesis by Dr David Lawlor (Author)
Now in its third edition, this book describes photosynthesis by considering the partial processes involved throughout the various level of plant (cell, organelle and molecule), and their contributions to the complete process. It also considers the molecular and biochemical events which take place in the photosynthetic system. Finally, it explains how these determine the physiological characteristics of plant productivity.

| Cells (Science Concepts, Second Series) by Alvin Silverstein (Author), Virginia B. Silverstein (Author), Laura Silverstein Nunn (Author)
What do you have in common with a shark, a zebra, and a pine tree? All four of you are alive - and so all four of you are made up of cells. Cells perform amazing functions. An animal's muscle cells contract and expand in response to signals they receive from nerve cells, allowing the animal to run or jump. Plants' leaves contain cells that collect sunlight, which in turn provides energy for photosynthesis, the process by which plants create their own food. Well-known science authors Alvin and...
