It's science experiment time by bearsybear (Southern California) 5 Stars
February 23, 2008
This book is perfect for research for your child's science experiment. My child is 11 years old, and this book is good for what I would say would be for kids from 9-13. It has 32 pages with great color illustrations and wonderful information. It has a section on the Plague (in 1665) that killed a lot of the population because of a bacteria from fleas. There is a time line called "Earth Birth" that shows how bacteria help create the earth. It talks about how bacteria are good and bad, and how small they really are. This is a wonderful book.

Good Germs, Bad Germs: Health and Survival in a Bacterial World
by Jessica Snyder Sachs (Author)

Public sanitation and antibiotic drugs have brought about historic increases in the human life span; they have also unintentionally produced new health crises by disrupting the intimate, age-old balance between humans and the microorganisms that inhabit our bodies and our environment. As a result, antibiotic resistance now ranks among the gravest medical problems of modern times. Good Germs, Bad Germs tells the story of what went terribly wrong in our war on germs. It also offers a hopeful look...
