Handbook of Silicon Semiconductor Metrology

Handbook of Silicon Semiconductor Metrology
by Alain C. Diebold (Editor)

A complete reference on silicon semiconductor metrology. Contains nearly 1300 references, more than 300 equations, and nearly 500 drawings, photographs and micrographs. Explains run-to-run and real-time control, considers how to improve physical measurement methods to meet more exact requirements, and more.

The VLSI Handbook, Second Edition (Electrical Engineering Handbook)

The VLSI Handbook, Second Edition (Electrical Engineering Handbook)
by Wai-Kai Chen (Editor)

At the cusp of the last century, Wai-Kai Chen introduced a monumental reference for the design, analysis, and prediction of VLSI circuits: The VLSI Handbook. Significantly revised, revamped, and updated to keep pace with the most dynamic field in engineering, this second edition has expanded to 13 sections comprising nearly 100 chapters focused on the key concepts, models, and equations.

Written by a stellar international panel of expert contributors, this handbook is still the most...

Silicon Nanoelectronics

Silicon Nanoelectronics
by Shunri Oda (Editor), David Ferry (Editor)

Technological advancement in chip development, primarily based on the downscaling of the feature size of transistors, is threatening to come to a standstill as we approach the limits of conventional scaling. For example, when the number of electrons in a device's active region is reduced to less than ten electrons (or holes), quantum fluctuation errors will occur, and when gate insulator thickness becomes too insignificant to block quantum mechanical tunneling, unacceptable leakage will occur....

Product Description
An extraordinary combination of material science, manufacturing processes, and innovative thinking spurred the development of SiGe heterojunction devices that offer a wide array of functions, unprecedented levels of performance, and low manufacturing costs. While there are many books on specific aspects of Si heterostructures, the Silicon Heterostructure Handbook: Materials, Fabrication, Devices, Circuits, and Applications of SiGe and Si Strained-Layer Epitaxy is the first book to bring all aspects together in a single source.Featuring broad, comprehensive, and in-depth discussion, this handbook distills the current state of the field in areas ranging from materials to fabrication, devices, CAD, circuits, and applications. The editor includes snapshots of the industrial state-of-the-art for devices and circuits, presenting a novel perspective for comparing the present status with future directions in the field. With each chapter contributed by expert authors from leading industrial and research institutions worldwide, the book is unequalled not only in breadth of scope, but also in depth of coverage, timeliness of results, and authority of references. It also includes a foreword by Dr. Bernard S. Meyerson, a pioneer in SiGe technology.Containing nearly 1000 figures along with valuable appendices, the Silicon Heterostructure Handbook authoritatively surveys materials, fabrication, device physics, transistor optimization, optoelectronics components, measurement, compact modeling, circuit design, and device simulation.

SiGe Photonics by Henry Daghighian 5 Stars
June 26, 2006
I used this book as a reference in my study of carbon doped SiGe HBT structurres. In my previous work eight years ago, i worked on GaAs HBT integrated photonics. I find this book very useful in outlining the foundations for 1310/1550Nm integrated photonics at >10Gbit/sec using relatively inexpensive SiGe structures as commpared to InP or discrete photonic solutions.

RF Circuit Design (Information and Communication Technology Series,)
by Richard C. Li (Author)

A Must-Read for all RF/RFIC Circuit Designers

This book targets the four most difficult skills facing RF/RFIC designers today: impedance matching, RF/AC grounding, Six Sigma design, and RFIC technology. Unlike most books on the market, it presents readers with practical engineering design examples to explore how they're used to solve ever more complex problems. The content is divided into three key parts:

Individual RF block circuit design

Introduction to Quantum Mechanics (2nd Edition)

Introduction to Quantum Mechanics (2nd Edition)
by David J. Griffiths (Author)

This book first teaches learners how to do quantum mechanics, and then provides them with a more insightful discussion of what it means. Fundamental principles are covered, quantum theory presented, and special techniques developed for attacking realistic problems. The book's two-part coverage organizes topics under basic theory, and assembles an arsenal of approximation schemes with illustrative applications.
