EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description At the Bench is the unique and hugely successful handbook for living and working in the laboratory, an essential aid to understanding basic lab techniques and how research groups work at a human level. In this newly revised edition, chapters have been rewritten to accommodate the impact of computer technology and the Internet, not only on the acquisition and analysis of data, but also on its organization and presentation. Alternatives to the use of radiation have been expanded, and figures and illustrations have been redrawn to reflect changes in laboratory equipment and procedures.Related Titles from the Publisher At the Helm: A Laboratory Navigator Lab Ref, Volume 2: A Handbook of Recipes, Reagents, and Other Reference Tools for Use at the Bench Lab Dynamics Lab Math |

| | good lab intro for non-lab-tech types by cxlxmx 5 Stars September 19, 2008 I am a nursing student with no background in genetics trying to find my way through a biology seminar in virology. I think this book is effective in helping me to understand some of the background knowledge on experiments reported in the primary literature--knowledge that the biology students take for granted.
| | Lab Bible by C. Raasch (New Orleans, LA) 5 Stars October 24, 2007 Every graduate student/new lab tech should get this when they begin working in the lab. I recommend Lab Ref too.
| | Great accompaniment to bio lab course by Amy White (State College, PA) 5 Stars February 16, 2007 If you haven't had a lab course before then this is a great book for you. It touches on just about anything you could do from storage and disposal to centrifugation. Very practical information.
