Pretty informative by Judy 4 Stars

The book was very informative and the detail and pictures about the individual perennials was helpful. I was, however, disappointed that many of the larger garden pictures did not identify the various plants utilized. It's hard to duplicate the look if you don't know what the plants are. Otherwise, it will be a great reference tool for my yard.

Worth every penny! by L. Schmidt (Michigan) 5 Stars

This book contains information I haven't been able to find in the other 10+ books I have on the subject. This book gives very specific instructions and examples of how to plant and care for your perennials. If you are going to purchase one book on perennial gardening, this should be it! While most gardening books focus on designing a garden, selecting plants and planting the garden, this book has a wealth of information on all aspects of gardening - including care and pruning of the garden after its planted. I have post-it notes and flags sticking out from all directions in my copy. There is just so much good information that its hard to remember everything you find in this book. The only downfall to the book is that all plants are referenced by their latin name in the index so if you are looking for info regarding a specific plant, you will need to determine its latin name first. Overall, I wouldn't be without this book. It has immensely improved my knowledge and gardening skills.

Very informative and easy to read. I read the whole thing from cover to cover. Divided into sections, making it easy to use for reference. If you have only one book about gardening in your library, make it this one!
