EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description The only book that explores the vaccination issue from political, ethical, psychological, aesthetic, and spiritual perspectives. Using principles of general semantics to recognize propaganda, particularly medical propaganda, it points to the power of the media to create our reality. James suggests an unusual consciousness-raising plan of action to insure freedom of choice and nonharrassment of persons who choose to stay off the vaccine bandwagon. The author's controversial position is supported throughout the book by the scientific discoveries of researchers who have received little recognition in orthodox medical literature. This new, completely revised edition shows: how vaccinations damage the immune and nervous systems, the vaccine-drug-AIDS connection, how to become "propaganda-proof," and how to develop new paradigms of health and preventive medicine. |

| The truth- from the simple to the complex by F. Mendez (Brooklyn, NY) 5 Stars November 21, 2009 Goes into the details of the vaccine issue in depth and clarity. Places the issue within the larger context of society. And finally adds her personal story.
After a long time studying the issue this is the best work I have found.
| | I do not recommend this book by Adam S. Berkovits (Phoenix, AZ) 1 Stars May 10, 2009 I read this book cover to cover with an unbiased outlook. Most of the information is factitious at best. Find yourself a more accurate review of the subject written by a science-oriented authority, rather than an angry mother. Definately NOT recommended.
| | A Book of Myths pretending to be reality by Dawn (New Jersey) 1 Stars August 30, 2008 I picked up this book and was appalled. There is little indication that Ms. James is an anti-vax advocate, and someone who has no knowledge of immunology. Health is a very good thing. I believe in a healthy diet, exercise, and immunizations to protect me from the people out there who wish to make me very ill.
Immunization immunity is just as good as "disease based" immunity...and for those of us who are dependent on herd immunity to stay healthy it is a necessary thing. Although I have had the measles, AND the MMR, I am still measles non-immune, and I'd rather not get it again, thank you. And I experienced pertussis a few years ago, since, like most adults, I only got the tetanus-diptheria shot for many years, and my pertussis immunity had waned. It was a very nasty illness, fortunately, no one else in my family caught it since the children had recent TDaP's and my husband had received one through work the previous year. Coughing until you are breathless and vomiting, breaking ribs with your cough...I made sure my next shot was a TDaP.
I have never been afraid to vaccinate my children, even with several generations of autism in the family. Vaccines do not cause problems in most people, nor do they cause autism. Please protect yourself, your children, and your community and be vaccinated. (Especially with the outbreaks currently of measles and pertussis).
| | Amazing, must have book!! by HappyHealthyGirl (Michigan) 5 Stars March 17, 2007 This book is well written and VERY informative. It really is a must have! I would love to personally thank Walene James for writting such an outstanding book. The truth needs to get out there and the only way that is going to happen is by each and every one of us doing research about our own health. Sadly our medical field is run by greed and profit. There are so many ways for us to stay healthy that are doctors will not tell us about. They dont make money on HEALTHY patients.
| | Extensive bibliography only SEEMS like sound research by x (Athens, GA) 3 Stars March 10, 2000 My husband and I read this book and were initially impressed by the extensive bibliographies at the end of each chapter. This book is painstakingly footnoted to make it easy to track down the primary resources Walene James uses in organizing her argument. However, many of James' arguments are not well supported by her own research. She presents graphs showing that the death rates from many diseases were had already declined by up to 90% before the vaccine for that disease was introduced. Since the vaccine's job is designed to prevent the disease, these statistics are irrelevant. Survival of these diseases has more to do with treatment once the disease has been caught. She also quotes other resources that we didn't think were very credible. All in all, this book raises important points. However, I wouldn't recommend that anyone base their decisions about immunization on it. My husband and I are still searching out better matierial upon which to base our opinion. This book gave us some ideas of where to look and perhaps a few more questions to ask.
