CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.5 based on 44 reviews)
| This is incredibily informative and easy to read by Yoruba (Ontario Canada) 5 Stars December 20, 2008 To all the sufferers of PCOS..this is one book you need to have on the shelf...it gives a wealth of information..while not going overboard with medical terminology.
It really explains whats may be the cause...and suggests solutions.
On a side note...and Im sure if youve gone to the specialist...theyve told you that weight loss helps...
Ive suffered with PCOS for the last 12 years...I made the commitment to get myself in the best shape I can...which for me meant running 5k 5 days a week- loosing weight and increasing muscle mass....only eating foods that are low glycemic and applying portion control..12 glasses of water and vitamins etc ...
And after years of suffering....my PCOS is gone...gone..healthy lifestyle and diet definitely wont be the cure for everyone...
But it will definitely work for some...
Dont give up....
| | way over my head...but my OBGYN recomends it by Wade Sunderland 2 Stars June 11, 2008 this book, was well lets just say way over my head BUT.... my OBGYN suggested so I am sure if you are more dedicated than me you would enjoy it.
| | DR. THATCHER IS WONDERFUL...BOOK IS A MUST HAVE by b.b. (tennessee) 5 Stars February 16, 2008 I can tell you that this book is very helpful with anyone with PCOS. Dr. Thatcher is actually my doctor and he is wonderful. He is very educated in this field. He stays on top of the newest research and is a great doctor. I can not say enough good things about him. I would recommend this book for anyone who suffers this disease and if you have daughters that may end up with similar symptoms. This would be a wonderful reference guide to help know what to expect. He really helps give the patient a guide to help them understand this disease and to help be able to discuss these symptoms with their doctors to get quality medical care.
| | The PCOS Woman's best friend! by Elaine Lynch (Cincinnati, OH United States) 5 Stars January 16, 2008 This wonderful book is the most comprehensive book about PCOS that is out there. I felt like I was taking a biology class on it, but with a full understanding of it all at the same time. It hits everything from the medical jargon, biology aspects to the emotional aspects. I cannot recommend this book enough, and as I am meeting more and more women with PCOS, I recommend this book to them hands down. I have written Oprah Winfrey about this book (and God knows why she won't do a show about PCOS since it is the most undiagnosed and misdiagnosed epidemic in women...).
This book made such a huge difference in my life and my perspective on things after I was diagnosed...I could go on and on....It is absolutely fantastic.
| | I can not recommend this book strongly enough! by Jill Guntur (New York) 5 Stars January 08, 2006 It has been several years since I was diagnosed with the often misunderstood, complicated disorder of PCOS. I still refer to this book. Although there is still much they do not know, this book is clear about what they are looking at next, and explaining, in detail, what the body is suppose to be doing. It addresses pretty much every aspect that can affect a woman (or man) with PCOS. Ditch the other drivel out there and save yourself a lot of frustration.
