I think this product is great. I have to be extra careful with the foods I buy, because my Father almost died a little over 2 years ago. The reason why I bought this book is because it has information regarding genetically modified fruits and vegetables. My Father has a pacemaker, and we have an oxmonitor to keep track of his oxygen levels and heart rate. It also has an alarm. Once my Father ate half an avacodo that was genetically modied, and his heart started racing. It went up 20 beats per minute. I told him to save the other half for myself, so I could see what happened to me. When I ate the other half, the same thing happened to me. This is not good for people with heart conditions. When he eats regular avacodos, he is just fine. It lists how to tell which foods are organic, commercially grown, and genetically modified. I have shared information in this book with others at work, and a couple of people came back to me to find out what the name of this book was, because they wanted to buy it. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is trying to eat healthier. It breaks down the ingredients that are in our packaged foods. I really love the book, because it has opened my eyes to be more careful.

I couldn't find this item in stores and of course, Amazon to the rescue! I bought this and love the key that it has in it to explain how the additives affect you, not just what they are. The size is very convenient too. I carry it everywhere I go, in my purse.

As a professional with a PhD in Food Science I will say this. The book does have some good information. I found a lot of discrepancies or half truths and it is extremely bias as to the effect of an ingredient on humans health by citing "causes cancer in rats" well we are not rats and the amount of these compounds or ingredients to cause cancer in humans in outrageous. You will spend the rest of your live stuffing it into your mouth before any side effects appear. I am not saying you should be vigilant and be careful of what you put into your mouth. Having said that ingredients are used sometimes to keep you the public safe and the food we make for you safe. You can do as much by reducing the amount of sugar you eat, reduct the amount of Fat and Sodium you consume. Don't eat something where the whole ingredient statement is unreadable for you. Twinkies tast good but they have a shelf life of forever. They are all sugar, starch and fat. Be sensible and reasonable and you will feel good and don't forget the exercise.

EXCELLENT. I bought this as a gift and my friend says she can't ever be without it as it is a wonderful source to carry in her purse. Nice and small with great information.

I so recommend this little book. I thought that I was just sensitive to gluten, but it turns out that I was just as sensitive to food additives as well. This book helped me track down the culprits for my fatigue, sinus issues, and even the nausea I sometimes experiened. I can't say enough kind words about the author or the book she wrote. I just thank the Lord for people out there like her who care.
