Help for Cancer Survivors by Jo-Ellen De Luca (Spartanburg, SC USA) 5 Stars
November 23, 2007
Cancer survivors, particularly colon cancer survivors having lost much of the intestinal tract, have a difficult time deciding what is best for their "new you" self. What worked before may not work today. Carolyn Katzin has her finger on the pulse of cancer nutrition. Taking into account that this group of survivors may well have other medical problems (Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis)to mix in with the equation,Dr Katzin is prepared to balance our bodies chemical needs for function with its new mode of letting us know what it will or will not process. Both Cancer Patients and their Caregivers will find recipes benefitting the whole family. Delicious, nutritious and with variety. I highly recommend The Cancer Center Nutrition Workbook by Dr Carolyn Katzin to any reader with nutrition concerns, most particularly cancer patients and survivors. If there is an opportunity to see Dr Katzin in person (Colon CAncer Alliance featured Dr Katzin this year at its Survivor Conference)don't hesitate to sign up!
