Helpful to an extent by Robert Palmer (harrisburg pa) 3 Stars
June 23, 2009
This book is helpful in many ways and depending on your particular circumstances can be very insightful. Unfortunately it makes a few large assumptions: 1) You are a theist 2) You are married 3) You have children Now if you are an atheist the book may still be helpful and insightful but the common references to a creator and design maybe distracting. On a different note, I was personally expecting more discussion on the scientific aspects of the brain. I was eager to learn about the neurological phenomena that occurs when one views porn. This certainly was present, but it did not go into the amount of depth and detail I felt it should, after all the title of the book is "the brain science behind interent pornography use" Like I said this book can be helpful, but if you are looking for a detailed and exhaustive study on the brain and pornography you will probably not find what you are looking for from this book.

A Superb Eye Opening Book by Reza Gorji (USA) 5 Stars

I won't repeat the positive comments from other reviewers here. Reading this book will show the reader the immminent and ever present dangers associated with pornography in society. The book is well referenced and easy to read. Alot of work has gone into writing this book and it shows.

Good Science, but too Mormon by R. Kravitz (Bay Area, CA) 3 Stars
June 10, 2009
This book had some great ideas and poonts, but it was too geared to the Mormon point of view--which I do respect, but don't follow since that is not my religion, I am not even Gentile. Like kneeling with your wife, praying and reading scripture before bed--doesn't really fit into my life. But I guess if I was a real addict I might resort to that. I did pick up some good ideas about talking to my son and it does make it clear that this stuff is not real, not what "decent" women want, etc. Doesn't touch on the fact that many porn actresses were abused as children and so by watching it, you promote child abuse in a sort of way. The examples of addicts were pretty extreme too. I read The Porn Trap and that was better.
