Dilley (Orange County, CA) 5 Stars August 03, 2009 This book was an absolutely amazing resource for me while I transitioned from selling copiers to interviewing for a pharmaceutical sales position! This book lays out everything you need to know, and advises in an almost step by step manner how to get an offer! After I read this book, I felt 110% prepared to interview for any pharmaceutical position. This book shows you how easy it is to pinpoint what recruiters are looking for, and how I need to convince them that I was the candidate they were looking for. With the help of this book, I recieved several great offers! This is a must read, and a secret weapon for anyone who wants to get a quality professional sales gig!

So, I try to read all books helping my candidates getting into pharmaceutical sales. As I'd grade the books I'm reading: Lisa Lane (B-), Lisa Alexander,(C+) Anne Clayton (B).
My candidates tell me what works and what does not work. The advice in Tom Ruff's book (grade: A-) is spot-on with what my candidates tell me works in the "real world." A good book - better than the others in substance and readability.

Tom has outlined the entire process including a great resume format to use, several excellent networking tips, most of which I had never thought of, and step by step instructions on getting an interview and knocking it out!
I highly recommend anyone who wants results in obtaining their dream job of becoming a pharmaceutical sales representatve, get this book now!

Avellone 5 Stars May 27, 2008 I greatly enjoyed the book and have suggested it to many on my friends that are looking into entering the field of pharmaceutical sales. I thought it was extremely beneficial to read to get a flavor of what a pharmaceutical representative do on a day to day basis and how to get into the field. Read this before revising your resume and interviewing for positions it can also save you time in the end if you decide Pharm sales isn't for you.
