EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description This booklet is the first volume of the Dattoli Cancer Foundation's "Prostate Cancer Essentials for Survival" series. It is a guide for informed patients, especially those who are planning to have or have already undergone brachytherapy and/or Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). As a primer, it offers the most practical and up-to-date information on these advanced radiation treatments, which are now the most utilized forms of treatment for early stage prostate cancer patients. This updated and revised edition includes the latest data on 4 Dimensional Image Guided Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (4D IG-IMRT). Three leading cancer care professionals specializing in state-of-the-art radiotherapy guide readers step by step through diagnosis, treatment and recovery. They also provide the current options for using advanced radiation therapy as a salvage treatment for surgical patients after recurrence. The authors share their wealth of knowledge and experience as members of the Dattoli Cancer Center & Brachytherapy Research Institute, which has the largest brachytherapy and IMRT program in the country. |
CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 5.0 based on 1 review)
| One of the best regarding radiation treatment by Michael Colford (Cartersville, Georgia USA) 5 Stars December 14, 2008 I continue to try to read every book out there about prostate cancer treatment. As I have no criticisms of this slim booklet, my review is quite short.
I found it to be very current with regard to radiation treatment information. It also addresses scenarios, such as salvage treatments, which are seldom mentioned in other similar types of books.
While it's not big on personality, I highly recommend it as superior to most other books on the topic. However, this book is about radiation only; it does not address surgery as a treatment option.
