I am a registered dietitian in private practice, and I bought this book to give to a patient suffering from IBD. It was very well written, in easy to understand language, and contained all the relevant dietary recommendations supported by scientific research.

Great book to find foods that heal! by A. Lounsbury (Virginia) 5 Stars

I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease earlier this year and had a terrible time figuring out what foods are okay to eat. I did the low residue diet during the severe time of flare-up but wasn't sure what I could start eating. This book is the only book that clearly lays out foods that are helpful in healing. Although it differs from person to person, this book is a great starting point and helped me to add some fruits and veggies back to my diet. I loved it and found it to be very helpful! Definitely would suggest for anyone who needs some idea of what they can eat with IBD. Some of the recipes do not adhere to the list, but I assume they are more focused for those who are already in remission, which I am not. Good luck to all with IBD!

Ms. Dalessandro has Crohn's disease so she is writing from her experiences. Her recipes are easy to make AND delicious! I had the priviledge of hearing her at a Chrohn's & Colitis Foundation seminar. This book covers much of what she shared....excellent resource.

I recently had the chance to hear Tracie Dalessandro Speak at a Crohn's and Colitis seminar. I was so impressed I figured I would give her book a try. This is without a doubt probably the BEST book on the market for anyone dignosed with Crohns. This book is packed full of great info. She has included some great simple receipes in this book. My husband is not a big broccoli lover my daughter who has Crohns was told not to eat broccoli. But I have to say after making this receipe my daughter had no ill effects and my husband ask for it all the time!!!!! Thank you Tracie!!!What to Eat with IBD: A Comprehensive Nutrition and Recipe Guide for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis
