| | My granddaughter loved it! by Northwest Pup 5 Stars August 01, 2009 I bought this as a gift for my five year old granddaughter, whose mommy is breastfeeding her 9 month old baby brother. She loved it (she could especially relate to the red-headed little girl, because she is red-headed, too)! She had me read it to her repeatedly, and she also read it to herself. About the only part which didn't 'fit' for her was the mommy in the book pumping to leave expressed milk, because she works outside the home; but we discussed that...that her (granddaughter's) mommy stays home to be with her and her brother. The 'special nursing toys' for the big sister could be a good suggestion for parents reading the book who might not have thought of that idea (special toys brought out for an older sibling only during nursing time). The book is realistic about the girl initially resenting the time mommy spends nursing her brother...but it has a nice positive message about how she comes to like that time and being a big sister. The book uses both the term 'boob' or 'boobie' and also 'breast/breastfeeding'.
