It was a pleasure reading this book. Dr. Barron made this book very
easy to read, and is packed with useful and practical information on
osteopenia and osteoporosis. This is not one of those books written
with a bunch of fluff. I will be going to my doctor with questions on
my osteoporosis based on my reading of this book. I have recommended
this book to my friends. Thanks for the great info!

I always thought that only "Old" people got osteoporosis. This book opened my eyes without talking down and making feel like I was stupid for not knowing. I enjoyed learning the process behind diagnosising Osteopenia and Osteoporosis. I know what questions to ask without sounding stupid to my doctor. Thank you for writing a book that talks to you and not above or demeans you for not knowing. I loved it and will recommend it to everyone wanting to know more. Patti

this book taught me nothing i don't already know. Am aware of the bone density tests, some causes of bone loss, etc from other books. There was NO mention of What to do if you have Severe osteoporosis and the Doctors cannot figure out Why?? More info on Forteo would be helpful as in Is this a safe drug being new to market. Where to we turn for help when tests come back negative and severe osteoporisis has set in even in our 50's. What foods can help us?? Yrs ago we were told to take calcium in our foods, then we read countries where they don't ingest calcium have stronger bones?? any NEW research being done on this?? i drank milk my whole life, eat yogurt all the time and still suffer with osteoporosis?? Where do we go when the Doctors have no answers?? Very small book. Not worth the money. Still have no answers??? sunsetgal

This book is very informative about the causes and treatments of Osteoporosis and Osteopenia. It is written in language that easy for the reader to comprehend and understand the specifics of the Bone Density test, what the results mean and how that affects the treatment of these conditions. I would recommend this book to my friends!

Here is a masterpeice by a Doctor, who has not only devoted is life in curing and helping people maitain their health, reduced pain and suffering, But also, now, sharing his wealth of knowledge thru this book for a common man to comprehend and better prepare oneself to ask the right questions to his/her Doctors.
I feel, usually, in the confusing jargon of Medcal terminology, fear and lack of adequate knowledge, a person feels that he/she is headed in the dark, lead by his/her health care provider and solely depend on them for providing the right advise and "not" doing a single mistake. (BTW, I lost my Dad because a doctor messed up and I was totally a novice to what he was doing !!) Why will you put your eggs in someone else's basket? Get ready to know for yourself what are the potential causes of bone loss, what to do if you're diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis, how to understand T scores and laboratory tests, and the various treatments available. THIS BOOK IS A TRUE EYE-OPENER !! It's abook by a doctor for the patients to face a doctor and to make sure that he is doing the right thing !!
IF GOD GIVES YOU ONE CAR TO BE USED FOR YOUR LIFE-TIME, you will do everything possible to make sure that car is maintained in a top-notch condition. Why will you not do the same for your own body. I highly recommend this book to anyone who cares about his (One-time, god-gifted) body. This book has certainly equipped me with valuable information and I am sure this book can help anyone, who has the willingness to go thru this !!
