CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.5 based on 65 reviews)
| Book offers a wealth of imformative information with a humorous spin. by David Stillman (Palm Springs, Ca) 5 Stars April 14, 2009 I have bought diamonds over the years and not from the usual mall-style outlets, which are overpriced and undervalued. Fred writes informatively and adds a bit of humor, which lends to his interest in helping the public being educated on buying their next diamond, no matter the budget or the quality of stone. The book is a great help and I have learned what to look for in greater depth. Yes he also has his own business, however that should not detract from the fact that he also sells quality stones, unlike the competition that promotes dubious practices to separate the public from their hard earned money, leaving them with a near worthless rock. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants more information on how to buy a diamond without getting ripped off. There are tons of sellers and depending on what type of stone you want this book will get you the stone you want and at the price range you are looking for. Thank you Fred for putting this great book out!
| | 98 % chance you will pay more and get less of a rock if you don't read this...... by Roger A. Herr (United States) 5 Stars April 13, 2009 I am not much of a fan of writing reviews, however this book is excellent. A friend of mine recommended it to me when I asked about how he chose a diamond for his girlfriend (now wife). The book is a surprisingly quick and easy read, and the author keeps you engaged. More importantly though, you learn a lot....very quickly. The author not only focuses on educating you about diamonds in general, but also spends time teaching you how to avoid the most common pitfalls in buying diamonds/engagement rings. Seriously after reading this I most likely got 2-3 times the diamond I would have for the same amount with no preparation. Read this book and get a diamond you will be proud to give her/him. Two thumbs up!
| | Not a bad book about diamonds by Bill (Texas) 4 Stars April 07, 2009 Not a bad book but he does knock the diamond trade and does quite a bit of self promotion. If you wade through all that you can get a good idea of the type of cut you want for a good diamond. His tables on prices are too high for the current market so you should be able to beat those.
| | Very Informative Book by aquarius (Baltimore,MD) 5 Stars March 26, 2009 This was a great book to educate myself before purchasing a diamond for my girlfriend. Highly recommended. Diamonds are a shady business and you must educate yourself and buy a close to investment grade diamond to guarantee future value. Don't let stores at the mall fool you!
| | This book is a must have for the consumer! by Jason Balman (Palm Springs, CA) 5 Stars March 18, 2009 After reading the book, my former thoughts about the average jeweler have changed. I now ask serious questions about any diamond I am interested in, especially any treatment and type of cut, clarity, class etc. Fred the author of the book is especially helpful in writing important information about where to buy your diamond and using his questionaire, to find the right stone to fit your needs. I was extremely happy getting this book and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in buying their next piece of diamond jewelry.
