A must read for everyone who drinks by Robert Milliken (USA) 5 Stars

The best book I ever read as it is a must for anyone who drinks.

Unbelievable by JellyBean (chicago) 5 Stars

This is November 3 and I have not had a drink since August 7 due to this book. I was scared to death I COULDN'T quit (drank every day either - At least one bottle 13.5% wine or a half pint of vodka or 6+ beers#. I have no idea why this works but halfway through reading it #I still haven't finished it) I just knew I wasn't going to drink anymore. I look at alcohol in such a different way now - not as pleasureable but as pathetic. So weird but it really worked.

THE SWEET TASTE OF FREEDOM by kathryn (Southeastern USA) 5 Stars

I highly recommend this book! I was on my umpteenth quit, about 2 weeks into it when I found this book. I have no doubts I would have gone back to drinking alc eventually as I did with every other quit. But before even finishing 1/2 of the book, I KNEW I would never take another alcoholic drink again. This after 30 plus years of 'enjoying' alcohol. Allen Carr totally exposes drinking alcohol for what it is: ingesting a powerful addictive poison on a regular basis because society has brainwashed us into thinking it's normal. So much of what we attribute to aging is actually the effect on our bodies of years of poisoning ourselves (whether we do it a little or alot). I do believe one day enough people will wake up and change their thinking about drinking this poison and alcohol will be a thing of the past. As Allen says, it's not that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages: THERE ARE NO ADVANTAGES TO DRINKING ALCOHOL. Amen to that. Here's to the sweet taste of FREEDOM! ps. His book, The Easy Way to Stop Smoking also works like a charm!

Very Powerful! by pensname (Australia) 5 Stars

Geez there are some good reviews for this book on here. It's the main reason why I purchased the book in the first place and I thank you all for your contribution to my good health. I had been drinking anywhere from 3-6 glasses of wine every night for the past 15 years and the evidence could be seen on my gut, in my depression levels and on the scales. I've cut down before to 5 nights a week and even to just 2 nights so that's what I really wanted to do again. I didn't want to give up completely - not to STOP drinking altogether - what would my family (of drinkers) think! The title of the book did scare me a little - "Easy Way to STOP Drinking", but I thought, what the hey I can just read the book and then use it to lessen the amount I drink. NO WAY! This book is magic - it stopped me, in my habitual tracks. Allen Carr insists that you keep drinking whilst you're reading it - how good is that! So I did and after each interesting section I relayed what I had read to my husband and we discussed it a little - the topics were so clear and interesting to us. I gave up drinking when I was about at the half-way mark of the book, and to my surprise my hubby did to, and he didn't even read the book! How powerful is that?! My last drink was 31 July when I had a couple of glasses of wine with dinner at my sister-in-law's birthday celebration where I found myself not really "needing" it. I don't crave the drink at all and I feel so much better, less stressed and with my new diet and supplement routine I've taken 4cm off my "beer" belly already. I feel great! A couple of weeks ago I found myself reflecting on how easy it's been to just STOP and found started to wonder when I might possibly be tempted to have a drink and what SPECIAL OCCASION that might be - the next birthday celebration or maybe at Christmas time??? Ewwwww I thought, having a drink won't be a special occasion to me. Enjoy! the book :)

Totally Amazed by this book & by Myself! by Kenneth Friend (Grass Valley, CA.) 5 Stars

I have been waiting for several months to pass before writing my review of this book as I sort of felt as though I was hypnotized as I was reading and taking it all it. I quit smoking 30 years ago with hypnosis help and noticed that the effects started to wear off in a month or so, But Not So with this book. Why? I wondered. I think it is all in the belief I have that what I read in this book is simply the truth. I did not give up something that I wanted and krave; I quit something that had simply became an ingrained habit over many years that I knew was not doing me any good at all. As one reviewer here pointed out the Author is ignoring reality because having a drink "feels good" (the buzz etc) shows me that not everyone can see the realty of Carr's logic. The buzz of not always having something buzzing in your brain to get in the way is such a high in itself! I feel so intune and much more real and outgoing and caring towards other people now; I cannot imagine ever covering up that part of my mind that is now open with any tranquilizer such as alcohol ever again. This weekend I attended a memorial service for a lost relative without about 30 others. All were drinking of course and some mentioned how it helped to have a stiff one to ease the pain. This really made me remember Allen Carrs words: If something negative hits you such as losing your job or a loved one you immediately say, I need a drink. Then the result is that you are sad and drunk so all you have done is added to the pain you already have. One you can change, the other you cannot. It takes a while to realize really that you are in control and others notice it too and realize they like you more now than when you were drinking and wonder what is new with you. Well, My health is better, my attitude is better, losing weight every week, lower blood pressure, more smiling, get up early with enthusiam every day. AND SAVE LOTS OF MONEY! I am still amazed though that I had absolutely no cravings whatsoever! That is the one part of the book I thought would not be true, but the more I read and realized all of those little truths. It became true. I never even took part in the "last drink" ritual at the end, did not want to. Couldn't wait to begin. I decided then that quitting was quitting, not giving it a try or seeing how it goes. QUITTING! I did and I know that it is permanent. Period.
