Product Description
Enter the world of visual illusion! Master artist Sandro Del-Prete is your guide through this mysterious, compelling landscape. His world-class works appeared in the best-selling Masters of Deception, revealing a style both uniquely poetic and personal. Like M.C. Escher, Del-Prete has devised a universe rich in impossible objects, optical deceptions, double perspectives, transformations, anamorphosis, and a good deal more. In this truly astonishing volume of images old and new, he presents a complete range of his art, from lithographed reproductions to oil paintings and sculptures. Look closely inside a cage with two lovebirds to see all the elements merge into the shape of a girl’s face. A series of seemingly endless towers pays homage to Escher. Expressive text accompanies each picture, opening a window into the work and illuminating Del-Prete’s artistic choices.

This book is fascinating... the pictures are all really amazing and creative. I love it!

Not as accomplished as I was expecting by Pierce Timberlake (Santa Rosa, CA USA) 2 Stars

I bought this book based on another optical illusion book, Masters of Deception, which included this artist's work. However, the colored pencil art in the current book does not have the presence of most of the work in the earlier book. There are a great many optical illusions presented here, some novel and interesting, many simply variations on optical illusions (by this artist and others) that we've see many times before. Generally, it lacks the finesse and painterly beauty of the best work in the earlier work. As an artist myself, I hate to trash another artist's work, and I don't want to trash Sandro Del-Prete's art, but ... given how long he has been doing art, I was expecting something a bit more accomplished than this. It isn't that he exactly lacks drafting skill; he just doesn't seem all that interested in clean lines and clear execution: it all seems a little rough.

The Ultimate Book of Optical Illusions

Prepare to be amazed! Inside the covers of this incredible, colorful collection are hundreds of the world’s most powerful optical illusions. They’re beautiful to behold, and stunning in their trickery. Some of the mind-boggling images seem to spring into action, vibrating, pulsing, and spinning like a hula hoop. Other ambiguous illusions feature two subjects in one: the fun is in finding them both in the single picture—including a mouse playing hide and seek in a cat’s face and a...

Imagine a night when you can ride your bike right up the stairs to your bed. Imagine a night when your toy train rumbles on its tracks out of your room and roars back in, full sized, ready for you to hop on for a nighttime adventure. Imagine a night when a farmer plays a lullaby on his fiddle, and his field of sunflowers begins to dip and sway to the rhythm.
