This book is brief yet thorough. My 11 yr old had trouble, but he enjoyed it when I read it to him. I loved it and will sign up for a microbiology course ASAP. The photographs were large & detailed. The glossary was very helpful along with the highlighted text. I did want to view a classification graphic (the kingdoms, etc)but there was none. An excellent book for middle/high school bio reports, adult curiosity, adv elementary school students "germ" questions, & a starting point for further microbiology study.Wish it were a same-sized paperback & cheaper.
