A unique 3 in 1 book, buy without hesitation! by path_consult (UK) 4 Stars

This practical approach of histopathology is quite unique, where the author placed basic rules for examining frozen section, core biopsies, cytology and others. The author's simplifications of pattern recognition made this difficult subject a fun. I found the following topics most useful: CK7/CK20 panel approach and related mnemonics, the compilation of criteria of malignancy based on histology, cytology, IHC, molecular and cell culture and the way by which the author interconnects the diagnostic criteria. In addition, I liked the casts for gross specimen reporting. The way the differential diagnosis is constructed clinically and pathologically is another pro. The 70 interview questions listed in this book included almost all aspects of objective-structured interviews Qs in histopathology. The exam instructions are helpful and practical! What I found to be weakness in this book is the spelling errors -which I found even in Goljan and Fletcher's books-, like `ege' instead of `edge'. I advocate the author to avoid such typos in the next edition. I would rank this book 4 out of 5, because of the typos.

This book sucks... by KilgoreTrout (Penn) 1 Stars

I bought this book, but I'm still not sure what it's supposed to be. The editing is awful (lots of language errors). Most importantly, it seems like a long outline of tangentially connected ideas. I don't know who would benefit from the purchase of this book. If you're looking for a primer-type of book on surgical pathology, I recommend the excellent Molavi book (Practice of Surg. Path.) over this waste of paper.

The skilful pathologist book provides a comprehensive view of the required skills for a talent pathologist. The way this book was written is completely new. So simple and so logic. Reading this book is better than spending days reading compact textbooks

The Practice of Surgical Pathology: A Beginner's Guide to the Diagnostic Process

In pathology education within North America, there exists a wide gap in the pedagogy between medical school and residency. Unlike other medical disciplines, in which the skills of history-taking, physical examination, and assessment are nurtured from the first year of medical school, the practice of pathology bears little resemblance to the visual gallery of pattern recognition that is second-year medical school pathology. Few medical schools have required clinical rotations in pathology,...
