Sounds like the previous reviewer wanted a sugar-coated overview lacking in specifics. That is not the Dummies style or purpose. This book is for COPD patients as well as the people around them. It is truthful and thorough, offering medically accurate information about all aspects of this disease. Here you'll get details that your doctor won't have time to tell you.

BRING ON THE DEPRESSION ********TERRIBLE BOOK by E. Thompson (North Carolina) 2 Stars
March 02, 2009
People with COPD do not need a book that is such a DOWNER, in the back of this book it shows how patient will or might need help dressing them selves and needing all kinds of personnal care. Like DEATH is right around the corner!!! Not enough on how exercise and your enviroment can change your ability to cope and function with COPD.. People with COPD are prone to depresion so a book like this is not what they need!!!! See my other review I found a great book on COPD

Very helpful easy to read book by sbs (NC) 4 Stars

This book is very helpful in understanding what COPD is and especially in understanding what the test numbers mean. The more you know about a disease the easier it is to manage it. Doctors don't always have time to explain things in detail. I was able to ask better questions at my next appointment.
