Product Description
Conservative talk radio's fastest-growing superstar is also a New York Times bestselling phenomenon: the author of the groundbreaking critique of the Supreme Court, Men in Black, and the deeply personal dog lover's memoir Rescuing Sprite, Mark R. Levin now delivers the book that characterizes both his devotion to his more than 5 million listeners and his love of our country and the legacy of our Founding Fathers: Liberty and Tyranny is Mark R. Levin's clarion call to conservative America, a new manifesto for the conservative movement for the 21st century. In the face of the modern liberal assault on Constitution-based values, an attack that has steadily snowballed since President Roosevelt's New Deal of the 1930s and resulted in a federal government that is a massive, unaccountable conglomerate, the time for re-enforcing the intellectual and practical case for conservatism is now. Conservative beliefs in individual freedoms do in the end stand for liberty for all Americans, while liberal dictates lead to the breakdown of civilized society -- in short, tyranny. Looking back to look to the future, Levin writes "conservatism is the antidote to tyranny precisely because its principles are our founding principles." And in a series of powerful essays, Levin lays out how conservatives can counter the liberal corrosion that has filtered into every timely issue affecting our daily lives, from the economy to health care, global warming, immigration, and more -- and illustrates how change, as seen through the conservative lens, is always prudent, and always an enhancement to individual freedom. As provocative, well-reasoned, robust, and informed as his on-air commentary, Levin's narrative will galvanize readers to begin a new era in conservative thinking and action. Liberty and Tyranny provides a philosophical, historical, and practical framework for revitalizing the conservative vision and ensuring the preservation of American society.

Not conservative enough for my tastes... by Torn Hyman (Maine) 1 Stars
November 27, 2009
This novel tells the inspiring story of one man's erotic journey from liberty to tyranny, and then back to liberty. That said, I think he's a closet liberal. Until I see a flag pin and a bow tie, I'm not convinced he represents the real america.

A Modern Day Hayek by T. S. Woodbury (Tampa, FL) 5 Stars
November 26, 2009
Mr. Levin is a modern day F.A. Hayek. Liberty and Freedom makes a compelling case to the audience of today, that "The Fatal Conceit" of the Statist will indeed lead us, and is in fact leading us, down "The Road to Serfdom".

Levin and Facts by John Foster (Weston, Ohio) 1 Stars
November 26, 2009
I've listened to Mark Levin. He frequently makes factual errors or just invents things that don't exist. He does this because he knows his audience eats it up and would never question his largely fictional stories. It's interesting how much he appeals to the 26% of the population that lives in an alternate universe. The book is pretty shoddy. It's not anything the average person---in the 74% majority---would ever regard seriously.

excellent book by J. D. Bromagem (grants pass or) 5 Stars

This is a great book from front to back. I have read it twice and passed it along to my family. I have no idea where it is now but I am sure many have gained some knowledge from this book.

Clear Statement of Conservative Philosophy by Rick (SF, CA) 5 Stars
November 24, 2009
I was raised conservative and have always voted conservative, though I only had a vague idea of what it was meant to be one. I wasn't sure what a "Reagan Conservative" was (though I felt it intuitively) or for that matter what specifically defined a liberal or ultra-liberal. Being constantly surrounded by liberals, I've always questioned my conservative principles. Levin's book helped me crystallize what I had been feeling all my life, and he helps introduce the historical and philosophical underpinnings to help strengthen my beliefs. I recommend this book to any political conservative who wants to flesh out their ideals, any independent who may have some conservative leanings, and any liberal who wants to understand why conservatives think the way they do.

Catastrophe
by Dick Morris (Author), Eileen Mcgann (Author)

It's time to take back our country.

Now. It's that simple. It's that urgent.

So begins Dick Morris and Eileen McGann's latest and most important book. They say that we must act before President Barack Obama fully implements his radical political agenda. Because after Obama has won his war on prosperity and canceled the war on terror, it will be too late to regain our liberty or our security.

At a time when we needed a pragmatic centrist to lead us out of...
