Schuler (New York) 5 Stars May 09, 2009 This book is a straight forward approach to the complicated formulas for the water treatment wastewater treatment operator. Cut and dry formulas stripped down to the basics for easy understanding. The questions force you to work out the problems until complete understanding is achieved. | | Exactly what I was looking for. by David B. Bunch (Louisville, Kentucky United States) 5 Stars August 13, 2007 This book contains all the math formulas needed for wastewater operations. It is presented in a very straight forward manner. This book is half formulas, half practice problems. And thats the only real way to learn math, by practicing the problems. If you buy this book, its my suggestion that you try to work the practice problems without looking back at the formula page. This will help you memorize them that much faster.
| | An excellent tutorial on math concepts by J. House (Orlando, FL) 5 Stars June 01, 2007 I am not a wastewater operator, but bought this book to help me learn basic mathematical concepts. What a treasure for anyone looking to know more about geometry, algebra, or using a calculator! In simple language with great examples and diagrams, the author explains how to calculate areas, volumes and other units of measure. I got a great refresher on basic algebra such as working with fractions, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction. The author provides lots of examples and practices quizzes, with answers listed in the back of the book. The illustrations and examples are great for visual learners. Although the book is geared to water treatment operators, anyone wanting to learn more about math could benefit from this unique and well-written book.
