All Hell's about to Break loose. by Average Joe 5 Stars

This is a good book, especially is you are going to have to survive away from home. The book blends survival in your house and survival if you have to leave your house (Get out of Dodge).

Interesting by Fred M. Huff (Bow, WA United States) 4 Stars

I found this book quite interesting. It's not entirely about how-to's but more about survival mindset. It seems a lot of what Cody does is put people into unfamiliar and difficult circumstances that look at the beginning not to be that big a deal. There is a bit of letting them flounder to get the idea just how deep into it they are followed with a hand up. It appears what he wants them to learn primarily is a mindset of survival awareness. I enjoyed the book. It's not just another me too clone.

Save Your Money by Scott A. Gordon (Sacramento, CA) 2 Stars

I was very disappointed with the content of this book. In reading the reviews and the write-up, I thought this would contain more practical information, but I found much of the information to be quasi-spiritual, wishful deep-thinking, and full of quotes and illustrations that were hard to apply to the context of the material.

So Many Better Books Out There! by Joe Joe 2 Stars

Over the past 3 years I have read approximately 65 books on emergency preparedness and this book ranks near the bottom (however above the author's other book 98.6 Degrees). Rawles, Tappan, Benson and Foster have much better offerings. If this is your very first survival/prepareness book, you will get something out of it, but there are a lot of pages of fluff for very little useful information.

Not for everyone, but it has its uses. by Brian Reaves (Anniston, AL USA) 3 Stars

While this book has a lot of information in it, there is a lot of fluff tucked away in there as well. Cody goes into the survival mind set you need, along with a lot of other information that most people will skim over. Don't get me wrong, there are gems in here if you're willing to read through to get to them. This is written as a "doomsday" scenario response, including information other books leave out like how to catch and cook a rat, how to dispose of a dead body, and how to open a canned food item using a brick wall. To say the least, this stuff is entertaining. Will this save your life after "The Big One" hits? Well, I guess if you read through and prepare ahead of time as Cody suggests, it might. It's definitely not a book you grab when you're in the middle of a crisis (and he tells you that), but it's great to help prepare you. It's just that the book could have been about 1/3 shorter without affecting the meat of what he was writing. If you're looking for a good survival book for wilderness trekking, this isn't what you want. If you're more into preparation for America "after the collapse", this is a good starting point, I guess.
