EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Estrogen is essential for good health and well being in women of all ages throughout their lives. I have written this book because I want to encourage women who have been on hormone replacement, like me, to consider remaining on it for life as I plan to do. For women who have been scared or hesitant to take estrogen because they are afraid of contracting breast cancer as predicted by the incorrect conclusions of the Women's Health Initiative in 2002, read this book and save your life. My doctor told me that I should stop taking estrogen because it is recommended for the shortest amount of time to control symptoms only. I have researched this issue for over a year because I want to make the right decision for me. I have decided to share my findings and experience of long term estrogen use with other women, and men who care for women, because I have discovered that we have been misled and our health and quality of life are at risk. Estrogen Revisited: Lifelong and Fearless is co-authored by Blane Crandall, M.D. Dr. Crandall has been Board Certified in the fields of Family Practice and Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has been a practicing physician for over thirty years and has written many articles on hormones and is an expert in the field of hormone replacement. He brings to this discussion unique medical credentials and experience treating women throughout their life span. Together, we hope to provide the reader with a balanced discussion of the benefits of hormone replacement. I hope that women will identify with my situation and also my frustration with the conflicting misinformation in the press regarding hormone replacement. Dr. Crandall has combined the natural history of medical disease in women with the data of numerous medical studies to draw the inescapable conclusion that women should take hormones fearlessly and lifelong. |

| Estrogen Revisted by C. C. Murasky 5 Stars February 13, 2009 I have just read the new book entitled Estrogen Revisited by Donna Walters & Blane Crandall, MD. This was an excellent little book that has answered my many questions about estrogen & my symptoms at my age. I have searched for these answers for years! No one had an answer as to what happens to a woman that had a hysterectomy but the ovararies were left..(the doctors said the ovararies would produce estrogen, you don't need anything else)but what does a woman at age 61 do when suffering many menopausal symptoms now? There were no answers out there for me until this little gem of a book came along with Donna's personal information about her estrogen use & Dr. Crandall's information from his medical background. This book is so easy to read & understand & I know it will answer a women's questions about this whole hormone dilema!!
| | Finally, some answers by RMG (N. Miami Beach, FL United States) 5 Stars January 31, 2009 This book is of such value to me that I felt compelled to write to the author. Below is a portion of the text of my letter:
I have just finished your book Estrogen Revisited and you and Dr. Crandall have completely changed my approach and understanding of menopause. Thank you for adding much need clarity. I am a 52 year old woman who is experiencing hot flashes, night sweats and other symptoms linked to diminishing estrogen. Thanks to you both, I am now armed with the information that I need to take charge of my body and my life.
There is so much confusion among medical experts and the media following the release of the Women's Health Initiative in 2002 that women have no idea what to do. This book explains the source of the confusion and presents viable options for pre-menopausal or menopausal women.
The book consists of two sections. The first section is written by Donna Walters, a 60 year old woman who has almost 30 years of personal experience with estrogen therapy. The second section, written by Dr. Blane Crandall presents the science, very clearly articulated for the lay person.
So, if you want answers which will allow you to make an informed decision for your life, read this book!
| | LIVE ladies!! This book is the truth! by Terwilliger RN (Wesley Chapel, FL United States) 5 Stars June 26, 2008 I have read so much about hormones recently and this book is excellent! The first half is Donna Walter's testimony as to how estrogen changed her life (for the better) and the second is Dr. Crandall's brilliant explanation as to why the WHI and all the other negative press estrogen has got is wrong!! he then explains why it is essential for well being in all women! Wow, every woman I know will get it for Christmas. Donna and Dr. Crandall are saving women's lives!
