EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description The second edition of Microdermabrasion, one of fourteen titles in Milady's Aesthetician Series, takes a unique and highly effective approach in addressing the advanced training needs of aestheticians working in medical skin care facilities, day spas and resort spas. Individuals will begin to understand the indications, contraindications and significant medical information necessary for clinical microdermabrasion. A host of case studies helps the reader evaluate and interpret the material. Clinicians will be able to work through specific case histories to improve their knowledge based on their own relevant experiences. Specific instructions for procedures are outlined in working documents, making the implementation process easy for the clinician, physician or facility. The approach used in this book is unique, using policy and procedure guides as well as case studies to create a real-life study of microdermabrasion. |
CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.5 based on 3 reviews)
| In depth book about microdermabrasion by Julia Avery (Moore, OK) 5 Stars May 27, 2009 This gives a good in depth review of microdermabrasion. More about the contraindacations. Anyone can operate a machine, but I think reading this book gives you more authority when speaking to your clients.
| | Perfect for the Beauty Therapist who wishes to specialise in Microdermabrasion treatments! by Pro Beauty Education (UK) 5 Stars September 15, 2008 This book is written by an American author Pamela Hill; a foremost authority in medical aesthetics who was a former nurse. As such; the emphasis of this book is thoroughly grounded in medical aesthetics. An extensive coverage of the fundamentals of skin care affords the therapist an understanding of how the prior application of cosmetics can affect the application of Microdermabrasion. All the main anti-ageing and `cosmeceutical' ingredients are covered in depth. An extensive chapter also covers the indications and contraindications of Microdermabrasion treatments. Treatment procedures are covered expansively with a prominence placed upon identifying safe treatment protocols and practices. As a lecturer in Beauty Therapy it is hoped that this book will aid in standardising Microdermabrasion treatments in the U.K. as this is a treatment that still has many treatment variables. During the study of my BA (Hons) Degree in Beauty Therapy Management course this book was extremely useful for my dissertation research too; purely because it provided such a comprehensive account of this popular salon treatment.
| | Great Book! by T. Caless (Rockville, MD) 4 Stars October 13, 2007 Very good and informative book. Very extensive. Good pictures. I wish there were more pictures but if you're an esthetician and want to do more microdermabrasion or brush up on your skills, this is an excellent book to have!
