| Platitudes... by makismom (Spokane, WA USA) 1 Stars February 02, 2009 After reading previous reviews, I was hoping that this book would contain some inspiration that would encourage me to look to at the cause of overeating, and perhaps some exercises to help those of us who are overweight delve into why we do what we do. Instead, I got a book full of platitudes like "Real women come in all shapes and sizes, not just 2 and 4" and "The space in front of the refrigerator is a no parking zone". No kidding - these are two of the actual "truths you need to know to overcome food addiction". Give me a break.
| | Big waste of money by Wanda Berry (Madison, Al) 1 Stars January 28, 2009 I thought this book was a big waste of money. No real insight as to why we do these things to ourselves. I purchased this book because it was written by a doctor, however I really got nothing out of it.
| | Emotional Eater's Inspiration book by loves to read (reno nv) 5 Stars November 30, 2008 I read this book when I am feeling depressed on my weight-loss program. It really helps me when I want to over-indulge. The author mentions something about having a ring that she wears all the time. I bought an inexpensive ring to wear. Whenever I start getting depressed I look at my ring and it reminds me of my goals. The author has a lot of good tips and I recommend this book. She was obese at one time and lost the weight.
| | Just take it one day at a time by leftylily (south jersey) 5 Stars September 05, 2008 I have gotten so much out of this little book. It certainly breaks through the lies I tell about food. I really am glad I purchased and read this book, a little mad- but glad.
| | Wonderful little GEM of a book & soooooooo HELPFUL! by Ozgoddess (Stateside) 5 Stars May 04, 2008 This is one of those books you keep picking up and wanting to read. There are so many weight loss related books to choose, and believe me, I think I have half of them if not more....but you know you've found a Gem when you keep referring to it often while most of the others collect dust. If you're an emotional eater and just someone looking for some support as you journey towards a healthier lifestyle, you really NEED THIS BOOK. Plus its small, you can take it anywhere but for a smaller sized book its PACKED with some of the best inspirational pages you'll find! I've been on many weight loss programs (finally stayed with Jenny Craig, the BEST there is!) and now with the help of books like this one, I know I'll finally get to where I have always wanted to be in life. Thank you so much for this book Debbie! I only hope more people will 'browse' around more on amazon and pick it up like I did! Well worth every cent!!!
