Very informative with good techniques. I had been giving my cats Reiki but really appreciated Kathleen and Elizabeth's pointers and signs to look for. Things I hadn't thought of or noticed.

The advice in this book applies to much more than working with animals.
The authors have a clear sense of how strong Reiki can feel, and therefore how potentially intrusive to a sensitive recipient. They advise that one always silently ask the recipient if they want to receive the energy. They recommend that one respect the desires and the autonomy of the recipient, rather than just leaping in with good intentions blazing; and they give many suggestions how one can read the nonverbal language of animals. I like their attitude of respect.
And by the way, it is full of encouraging stories that show how Reiki can help all animals - even us.

When I bought the book I was expecting to understand how Reiki is being used on animals. The Authors explains clearly the way they have used reiki on animal. The book is very easy to read. If you are trying to understand how reiky can be used on animals, this is the book. The authors also indicates that the book is a source of information to people that has reiki level I and/or II. After reading the book I will look for a reiki master so I can study it and get reiki I level.

I have not even finished the book yet and it has already guided me to the understanding of how reiki and animals work together. I am a level 2 practitioner who was inspired by Cesar Millan 4 years ago to be a dog trainer to help rehabilitate dogs from euthanization. I believe no dog should die for behavioral problems.
My first private case with reiki and an animal was with a dog who had been diagnosed with cancer in a leg. The leg had to be amputated and I helped my friend through the process. Just as the book explains through stories and detailed information, the dog did exactly as they described when an animal is willing to receive healing by offering the part of the body that needs it most. In my case the dog sat a few feet away and offered her stump closest to me.
Thank you for your personal stories and endless hours of detailed "hands on" research of animals and reiki. With my passion and compassion for both reiki and animals, your book has set me in the right direction with the knowledge and wisdom that both have to offer me on my path of service to facilitate healing for humans and animals
